The Atlantic Oceanside Hotel is looking for a Front Desk Agent to serve as our guests first point of contact by giving them a warm welcome and ensuring they have a comfortable stay. If you have a natural passion for delivering exceptional service, enjoy solving problems, and are comfortable using a computer to check guests in and out this may be the role for you. Prior hotel experience is not required, but a friendly and positive attitude is necessary. This position is full time year round.

Base Rate: $17 per hour or more based on experience.

Job Duties:

  • Greet guests warmly, provide exceptional customer service, in person and on the telephone.
  • Maintain open and efficient communication with other departments.
  • Demonstrate commitment to hotel by professional appearance, respectful communication, and integrity.
  • Ensure balanced accounting functions, including cash banks, credit card processing and room charges.
  • Resolve customer issues in an efficient manner to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor.
  • Be a concierge by understanding hotel amenities and area activities in Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park.


  • Decision making using fair judgement.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective communication, written and verbal.

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and working at the front desk.
  • Must be able to lift to 30 pounds.
  • Must be able to work from 7am-3pm or 3pm-11pm, including weekends and holidays.

Required Education and Experience:

  • No specific education required.
  • Hotel experience or similar office experience preferred, but not required.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

    • Willingness to work outside the job description to assist as needed in other areas of the hotel.
